Event & radar context
Lemon and colleagues documented a long-track supercell tornado using a damage survey, eyewitness accounts and Bucharest radar reflectivity. The published survey estimated a path exceeding 74 km and an average width near 1 km. C-band attenuation and increasing beam height limit the radar view. MeteoRomania supplied this older EEC DWSR-2500C sequence separately; its general archive begins in 2003. All 18 supplied lowest-elevation times are shown. The 170-minute radar sequence is storm context, not tornado ground duration. Doppler velocity was excluded because the supplier identified quality problems.
Interpreting the rating
F, EF and IF are different damage-rating scales. Original source labels are preserved. Badge colours group the numerical categories for browsing; they do not imply identical wind thresholds. Radar products do not directly establish the damage rating.
