Event & radar context

This entry covers the Northern Cochran County tornado that crossed Highway 214 north of Morton. It was one of several separate tornadoes produced by the same supercell. NWS assigned EF2 from surveyed damage. The radar sequence includes surrounding storm evolution; the whole timeline is not the tornado’s time on the ground. Velocity is raw radial velocity, not dealiased or storm-relative, and does not directly measure surface wind speeds.

Interpreting the rating

F, EF and IF are different damage-rating scales. Original source labels are preserved. Badge colours group the numerical categories for browsing; they do not imply identical wind thresholds. Radar products do not directly establish the damage rating.
