Event & radar context

The EF3 tornado crossed Dunrobin and Gatineau during a six-tornado outbreak. This wider radar window also includes other storms, including the later Ottawa EF2 tornado. The displayed PRECIP-ET rain-rate images are original ECCC archive imagery from Franktown, with their original map and legend preserved. They are not native Level II volumes and do not provide velocity or RhoHV.

Interpreting the rating

F, EF and IF are different damage-rating scales. Original source labels are preserved. Badge colours group the numerical categories for browsing; they do not imply identical wind thresholds. Radar products do not directly establish the damage rating.
