Event & radar context
The Bureau records the Mulwala tornado as F3 on the original Fujita scale. A 2021 peer-reviewed reassessment also retained F3 and noted the possibility of a tornado family in this outbreak. Nearby damage reports should not all be treated as one continuous tornado. The radar sequence includes context before and after the reported event time; its three-hour span is not the tornado duration. AU49 reflectivity and raw radial velocity are authentic archived observations, with no RhoHV in these files. Very close to the radar, the lowest beam can poorly resolve echoes.
Interpreting the rating
F, EF and IF are different damage-rating scales. Original source labels are preserved. Badge colours group the numerical categories for browsing; they do not imply identical wind thresholds. Radar products do not directly establish the damage rating.
